I was saddened when I heard that Papino’s had closed its doors earlier this year. A restaurant with such an amazing legacy should never just disappear.
I approached a few people and with their help we managed to acquire this piece of Hout Bay history and transform it to what you see today.
In honoring the past, I aim to bring back most of your favourite dishes from the original menu and have added a Jolly Cook twist to a few new dishes.
I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable. So if this is your first time here, I hope that you can feel the atmosphere of the good times and food that people enjoyed in this building over the many years that this restaurant was open.

We support local, all our fresh produce is supplied by local companies within Hout Bay.
We will always strive to bring you the freshest ingredients throughout our dishes.
In line with this, all our menu items are subject to stock availability.
We are bringing back the traditional starters.

JOLLY COOK'S SPECIALITY
All our steaks are matured for a minimum of 30 days. Our meat supplier was established in 1893 and guarantees us the finest grain fed cuts of meat. We are passionate about meat and the way it is treated in the cold chain and how it is prepared before it is served to you.
PIZZA & PASTA
Our pizza bases are made from the finest Italian flour. All other ingredients are specially selected from the top International suppliers. With our Pizza and Pasta we use the top graded Italian tomato and mozzarella cheese.
